Toward the end of his life, Marvin's father was an unhappy man. He'd become more paranoid and demanding; it was hard for Marvin because he felt so helpless. His dad had been gone for several months when Marvin had a dream of floating down a river on giant leaves, his father on one leaf and he on another, and Marvin Sr. told him the great thing about being dead is you know everything you want to know. It was a wonderful visit from the great beyond, and a relief to hear his dad speak without the distress he had shown for years.

Marvin designed this image to be cut out and used in "Water Dragon", which is a large dimensional piece which contains 5 separate but connected stories about Marvin, rivers, and his father.
