About the Series: For years people have inquired if Marvin thought he would ever design a Tarot deck. He was reluctant, because he felt that Tarot conventions were too constraining. Then he began to have magical and significant cards appear to him in dreams. Over time, he realized that an “oracle deck” was emerging. An oracle deck follows an artist’s own vision, rather than traditional conventions. Marvin continued to design and carve the cards up until a few weeks before his death, but he was unable to complete all of the blocks he had planned. Wendy was able to complete several of the blocks, and has plans to someday finish the deck as an homage to Marvin's last project.
